Mold Mechanic

Job Title

This position is responsible for performing all aspects of entry-level mechanics and higher levels of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs.

Functions:

• Minor electrical repairs such as switches, solenoids, heater bands, relays, contractors, starters, and pyro-meters.
• Hydraulic repairs, oil leaks, pilot valves, and cylinders, hydraulic hoses and tubing lines.
• Basic hydraulic circuit modification.
• Able to replace toggle pins and links, guide rods, bushings, tie bars, setting tie bar strain.
• Rebuilding of pumps with limited supervisor guidance.
• Repair directional valves and flow controls.
• Complete command of mold setting, operation settings, and perform all safety checks.
• Basic welding and cutting projects, including torches and power tools.
• Performs appropriate cleaning of press tie bars, ways, and drop area to prevent grease and oil related rejections.
• Maintains a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear.
• Performs general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.
• When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.
