Mold Mechanic

Overview

This position is responsible for performing all aspects of entry-level mechanics and higher levels of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs.

• Perform minor electrical repairs such as switches, solenoids, heater bands, relays, contractors, starters, and pyro-meters.
• Conduct hydraulic repairs, address oil leaks, work with pilot valves, cylinders, hydraulic hoses and tubing lines, and perform basic hydraulic circuit modification.
• Replace toggle pins and links, guide rods, bushings, tie bars, and setting tie bar strain.
• Rebuild pumps with limited supervisor guidance; repair directional valves and flow controls.
• Complete mold setting, operation settings, and perform all required safety checks.
• Perform basic welding and cutting projects, including torches and power tools.
• Clean and maintain press tie bars, ways, and drop areas to prevent grease and oil-related rejections.
• Maintain a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear.
• Perform general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal.
• When work in primary classification is not available, may perform other duties according to skill and availability.

• Ability to perform mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs across multiple levels.
• Basic welding and cutting skills; familiarity with torches and power tools.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and perform safety checks.
• Willingness to maintain a clean, organized workspace and perform general housekeeping.
• Adaptability to perform other duties as needed based on skill and availability.
• Continued employment on an at-will basis.
