Position Summary

The Facilities Setup & Custodial Technician plays a vital role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for worship services, events, staff, and guests. This position supports the ministry of the church by ensuring facilities are properly set up, well maintained, and cleaned with excellence and care.

Essential Duties

Performs all tasks as directed by Supervisor.

Facilities Setup & Event Support
  • Set up and tear down rooms for worship services, meetings, classes, and special events (chairs, tables, risers, staging, etc.).
  • Reset rooms to their standard layout after events.
  • Assist with moving furniture and equipment as needed.
  • Help maintain organized storage areas and event equipment.
Custodial & Cleaning Duties
  • Clean and maintain all church buildings to established standards.
  • Thoroughly clean the worship center after services, including vacuuming, dusting, and removing items left behind.
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms daily, including fixtures, mirrors, dispensers, door handles, and light switches.
  • Empty trash and replace liners throughout the campus.
  • Sanitize tables, chairs, and surfaces in children’s and ministry areas after each event.
  • Refill restroom and cleaning supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.).
  • Report maintenance needs or safety concerns promptly.
General Duties
  • Support a team-oriented work environment with a positive, servant-hearted attitude.
  • Follow safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support church operations.
Qualifications
  • Previous custodial or facilities experience preferred but not required.
  • Willingness and ability to work Sundays and holidays as required, as well as evenings and weekends based on ministry and event needs.
  • Ability to lift, move, and set up equipment (up to 50 lbs).
  • Reliable, punctual, and self-motivated.
  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Alignment with the mission and values of the church.
Work Environment
  • Indoor and occasional outdoor work.
  • Physical activity including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and pushing.
  • Flexible schedule based on service times and event needs.
Shift Hours

Shift hours will vary day to day and week to week. 20-30 hours per week Monday through Sunday.

Requirements
  • Be able to interpret schedules and work duties.
  • Will need experience and knowledge using janitorial equipment and chemicals.
  • Ability to understand and read English.
  • Repetitive motion involved daily may include, but not limited to, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, reaching, climbing, and squatting.
  • Can work independently.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Desire to serve others.
Education and Certifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
