The Opportunity
The Custodian/Maintenance Helper Technician performs general housekeeping duties for the office and production facilities according to guidelines set forth by the Maintenance Manager. Duties also include light preventive maintenance of machinery, along with a supporting role for other Maintenance employees and staff.
Responsibilities
- Perform general, routine custodial duties to include sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning restrooms, restocking paper and soap supplies for office space and production facility.
- Perform minor machine preventative maintenance such as machine filter changes, basic machine lubrication, and daily maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with equipment for safety and durability to include fire extinguisher checks, e-light testing, safety shower testing, first aid supply replenishing, and ground maintenance
- Perform all recycling activities for paper, cardboard, and other recyclables according to required procedures throughout facility.
- Collect and remove trash throughout facility and dispose in proper dumpsters.
- Set up conference and meeting rooms according to required specifications
- Identifies and reports safety and maintenance concerns to appropriate staff, which may include submitting or recommending work requests and checking supply levels.
- High School or equivalent education and experience
- 6 months previous custodial or maintenance experience preferred
- Positive, can-do approach to work
- Sense of urgency towards completing assigned tasks on time
- Good verbal communication skills, given and received.
- Ability to work in a team-centered atmosphere.
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
- Five (5) weeks PTO
