Job Description & How to Apply Below

CBRC Health & Fitness is seeking a skilled, dependable, and solutions-oriented Maintenance Technician to help care for our large and diverse health and fitness facility.

If you are the kind of person who notices when something isn't working properly, enjoys figuring out how to fix it, and takes pride in keeping a facility safe, functional, and looking its best, we would love to hear from you.

At CBRC, our core purpose is building a community and inspiring healthier lives. Our Maintenance team plays an essential role in making that possible by maintaining the buildings, equipment, systems, and outdoor spaces our members and employees depend on every day.

The Role

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and facility improvement projects throughout CBRC.

This is a full-time, hands-on position supporting a large facility with a variety of environments and operating systems. The work may range from repairing a door or plumbing fixture one hour to troubleshooting equipment, completing a preventive maintenance inspection, supporting pool-related systems, or working on an outdoor project the next.

We are looking for someone who is mechanically inclined, resourceful, organized, and comfortable working independently. Just as importantly, we need someone who understands that maintaining a health and fitness facility means working around members and employees and providing professional, responsive service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs throughout CBRC's buildings and grounds.
  • Inspect facility systems, equipment, and physical spaces regularly to identify maintenance needs before they become larger problems.
  • Troubleshoot and complete general repairs involving plumbing, electrical fixtures, doors, locks, hardware, walls, flooring, cabinetry, and other building components within the scope of the position.
  • Perform basic plumbing repairs such as faucets, toilets, drains, valves, and other fixtures.
  • Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs within appropriate training and licensing requirements.
  • Assist with monitoring and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air‑conditioning systems and coordinate professional service when needed.
  • Support the maintenance of pool and aquatic mechanical systems, pumps, filtration equipment, and related facility components as trained and assigned.
  • Assist with preventive maintenance and minor repairs of fitness equipment and coordinate specialized service when appropriate.
  • Maintain lighting throughout the facility and replace bulbs, fixtures, or related components as needed.
  • Complete minor carpentry, drywall, painting, patching, and finishing projects.
  • Repair and maintain doors, gates, locks, furniture, fixtures, and other facility equipment.
  • Assist with maintenance and upkeep of locker rooms, showers, restrooms, fitness areas, offices, courts, pool areas, and other member spaces.
  • Support seasonal maintenance needs at Pelican Bay and other outdoor areas.
  • Assist with grounds, exterior facility, and seasonal maintenance projects as needed.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests from departments throughout CBRC.
  • Prioritize maintenance requests based on safety, operational impact, and urgency.
  • Perform regular facility inspections and identify potential safety hazards or needed repairs.
  • Respond to urgent facility issues, leaks, equipment failures, and other unexpected maintenance needs.
  • Maintain organized maintenance work areas, tools, equipment, parts, and supplies.
  • Monitor maintenance inventory and communicate purchasing needs.
  • Maintain appropriate records of preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and contractor service.
  • Assist with moving, assembling, installing, and relocating furniture, equipment, and other facility items.
  • Support facility improvement, renovation, and special projects as assigned.
  • Work with outside contractors and vendors when specialized repairs or licensed trade work is required.
  • Follow all applicable safety procedures, including appropriate handling of tools, equipment, chemicals, and hazardous materials.
  • Communicate professionally with members, employees, vendors, and contractors.
  • Help maintain a facility that is safe, functional, attractive, and ready for members every day.
What We're Looking For

The ideal Maintenance Technician is a practical problem-solver who enjoys variety and takes ownership of their work.

You don't need to be a licensed expert in every trade. You do need a strong general understanding of building maintenance, the ability to troubleshoot problems, and good judgment about what you can safely repair yourself and when a specialized professional should be called.

Strong candidates will bring:

  • Previous experience in facility maintenance, building maintenance, property maintenance, construction, mechanical repair, or a related field.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and general repair skills.
  • Working knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry,…
