Compensation: $120,000 - $130,000 + bonus + benefits (salaried, exempt). The listed range reflects the targeted pay scale; actual pay depends on experience, education, and location. Base salary is displayed; bonuses and benefits are excluded.
Scope of the PositionThe Maintenance Supervisor is a key part of the maintenance department at our Richmond CA sulfuric acid and regen production plant. They lead the team and manage plant resources to achieve strategic maintenance, reliability, and safety objectives, comply with Chemtrade Responsible Care, supervise maintenance and contractor crews for capital projects, and manage all maintenance activities.
What You Need To Be Successful- High school diploma
- 5+ years of maintenance experience
- Working knowledge of chemical, oil refinery, power, or pulp and paper process equipment, including pumps, motors, piping, valves, turbines, and heat exchangers
- 3+ years of leadership experience directing hourly employees
- Experience with safety programs in an industrial facility
- Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and familiarity with SAP (purchasing and plant maintenance modules are pluses)
- Develop and supervise the daily maintenance work schedule
- Create and implement a developmental plan for the mechanical crew
- Communicate with operations to add any emergency work to the day's schedule
- Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System or work order system to assign work
- Maintain preventative maintenance inspection reports and ensure completion on schedule
- Perform troubleshooting of plant process and/or equipment issues and lead group troubleshooting meetings
- Track stock for all mechanical, instrumentation, welding, rotating equipment, pipe‑valve‑fittings, and associated filters, bearings, and hoses
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures across the maintenance department
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and closure of action items
- Assist in developing and communicating job safety analyses for plant processes
- Respond to EHS incidents through prompt reporting, investigation, root‑cause identification, and action‑item implementation
- Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to create a safety‑first culture consistent with Responsible Care
- Maintain knowledge of company policies, plant procedures, environmental regulations, permits, and other standards
- Manage budgeting, scheduling, pre‑outage hazard preparation, measurement metrics, critiques, and related activities
- Lead the maintenance training and education process to ensure technicians possess required knowledge and competencies
Chemtrade requires all employees to complete and pass the annual medical assessment, including but not limited to a pulmonary function test (PFT) and the ability to wear a respirator, as a condition of employment.
