Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview

The Hawesville, Kentucky site is seeking a full‑time permanent Mechanical Planner to support the Maintenance Department.
Responsibilities- Possess a personal dedication to safety, proactively supporting efforts to create a culture of safety excellence.
- Plan the maintenance activities across the mill, supporting maintenance processes and departmental goals.
- Plan, schedule and execute work orders, including estimating labor, materials and duration.
- Conduct weekly schedule meetings with Production Coordinators.
- Review executed work plans for improvement opportunities and continuously improve planning and execution.
- Verify and review work notifications and plan work orders for execution.
- Perform maintenance on‑call duty within the department rotation.
- Support and provide back‑up supervision of hourly employees when needed.
- Supervise contractors as necessary.
- Act as process owner for shutdown plans, maintaining and improving process reliability and safety.
- Manage projects and contractors as needed.
- Fill in for Multi‑Craft Maintenance Supervisors as required.
- Technical/Trade School diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of relevant experience.
- Strong commitment to safety.
- Computer skills.
- Exposure to dust, heat, dirt, noise, various weather conditions and other industrial environments.
- Five (5) years of relevant experience.
- Microsoft Office and Project knowledge.
- SAP knowledge.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance processes.
- Knowledge of maintenance processes and general maintenance trade knowledge.
- Experience as a Planner in Mechanical and/or Electrical Maintenance Department.
- Proficiency in CMMS (SAP preferred).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera or similar scheduling software.
