Job Description
In Richmond, Virginia, you will lead production operations in the plant and deliver key performance targets (SQCDSM) in safety, quality, productivity, volumes, cost, sustainability, and organizational morale. You will ensure our manufacturing strategy is implemented effectively and strive to build a high‑performing organization.
Responsibilities- Improve maintenance skills and implement continuous improvement and autonomous maintenance tools in the production process.
- Provide leadership and coaching to the maintenance team, implementing IL6S‑Integrated Lean Six Sigma ways of working: zero‑breakdowns via preventive/predictive maintenance strategies, technical mastery of maintenance and operation teams, and use of PM, CBM, visual controls & tools management, lubrication management, and equipment calibration.
- Role model values and principles through coaching and mentoring, building skill capability across the plant technical/engineering team and planning people succession and resources.
- Participate in the Progressive Maintenance pillar, supporting methodology breakdown, coaching and auditing PM teams, and ensuring discipline and compliance with standards.
- Strengthen compliance with company standards, rules, and policies, and with safety, quality, and maintenance standards of the production process.
- Manage predictive, preventive, scheduled corrective, and refurbishment of machinery and equipment to maintain operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Generate corrective work orders from critical preventive maintenance and CBM reviews.
- Schedule refurbishment of machinery and equipment using reports from Production Planning and Control.
- Maintain operational efficiency of machinery and equipment through compliance with preventive maintenance programs and renovations.
- Support management of suppliers for contracted maintenance.
- Maintain documented information for predictive and preventive maintenance, primary equipment operating conditions, and production‑related improvements.
- Coordinate training for maintenance and operations on operating conditions and improvements.
- Optimize the maintenance management tool (SAP PM) to control and plan work hours, work orders, spare parts requisition, and auxiliary materials.
- Manage spare parts to improve cycle count accuracy, inventory levels, and turn‑aways.
- Support the application of the Early Management Pillar methodology to new projects.
- Lead projects and investments per Matrix RACI Engineering and Maintenance responsibilities.
- Participate in systemic improvement groups per the Master Plan of the Progressive Maintenance pillar or other integrated systems pillars.
- Manage maintenance costs.
- Serve internal and external customers promptly as requested by Day‑to‑Day Management.
- Maintain order, storage, and conservation of materials and equipment.
- Implement and maintain the plant’s Progressive Maintenance Improvement Plan and Roadmap aligned with plant/BU priorities.
- Provide maintenance leadership for a Business Unit or act as Strategy Lead.
- Proactively evaluate and refine equipment reliability plans, strategies, performance, and RCA effectiveness.
- Manage production and facility/utility asset maintenance and infrastructure to balance resources for short‑ and long‑range plans.
- Champion a proactive, cost‑effective maintenance and reliability culture, ensuring necessary skill sets are developed, refined, and maintained.
- Support plant teams in reviewing/developing operating standards, line speeds, and Global Efficiency (GE) to capitalize on improvement opportunities.
- Coach, mentor, and develop maintenance leadership staff.
- Coordinate production of equipment and facility maintenance activities, including capital projects with corporate engineering to maximize reliability, efficiency, and cost.
- Ensure adherence to safety and risk‑management regulations and procedures, according to company policies and FM Global recommendations.
- Champion GE improvement initiatives and monitor equipment reliability improvement plans.
- Achieve all Maintenance Goals toward Zero Breakdowns.
