Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift - Richmond, VA

Facilities Maintenance Technician - VCU Health - 2nd Shift

Salary: $20-$26 per hour

Performs a variety of maintenance duties. This is a 2nd Shift, 3:30 pm to 12 am M‑F schedule.

• Troubleshoot equipment sets, replace plumbing fixtures, rod drains and pipes, identify and stop leaks, rebuild flush valves.
• Supervise and adjust building automation systems for patient and staff comfort.
• Perform generator testing and inspections; replace light fixtures and bulbs; replace ceiling tiles and respond to general building issues.
• Use drawings, wiring diagrams, operations & maintenance manuals for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making repairs.
• Coordinate specialized work with vendors and contractors.
• Perform preventative maintenance on the emergency power system, emergency lighting, ice machines, refrigerators, HVAC equipment, and other building systems.
• Conduct building and mechanical room inspections in accordance with the maintenance program.

• 3-5 years of related experience as a maintenance worker/technician (preferred).
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to follow up on maintenance tasks.
• Driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Experience with building automation systems.
• Experience with computerized work order systems preferred.
