OverviewASM is the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities and has an immediate part‑time opening for a Floor Technician. The Floor Technician is responsible for the overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpets (stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction, & bonneting) in offices, classrooms, lobbies, entrances, stairwells, stages, hallways and other public areas.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Follow all safety requirements and procedures at all times.
- Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment before and after use.
- Handle floor care, including routine mopping (dry and damp), buffing and burnishing of hard surfaces.
- Maintain floors through vacuuming, shampooing, bonneting and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications- Knowledge of materials, methods, implements and devices used in cleaning building areas.
- Ability to understand and speak English and follow oral and written instructions.
- Strong leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Team player.
- Knowledge of the operation, use and care of vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, polishing machines and general housekeeping equipment.
- Ability to work under pressure and time constraints (due to schedule and last‑minute job requests).
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
- Physical stamina to stand, reach, walk, climb stairs, lift up to 40 pounds (or use safety equipment for heavier loads) and push/pull custodial carts up to 100 lbs.
Regular standing, reaching with hands and arms, walking, climbing stairs, hearing to recognize alarms, reading and writing printed words, occasional lifting or moving up to 40 pounds, use of hands to handle objects, tools, or controls; periodically pushing or pulling a custodial cart up to 100 lbs on concrete, tile and carpeted floors.
Education and Work ExperienceHigh School Diploma or equivalent. Verifiable work experience as a Floor Technician. Demonstrated ability to work effectively around the public and other employees. Must pass a background check.
