Lead Custodian – Evening, Virginia Beach Campus (2 openings). Role Title Hsekeep &/or Apparel Workr I. Position Code 79071-SW, FLSA Nonexempt, Pay Band 01 (salary range $30,900 – $38,110, commensurate with experience). Position Number 295R0757. Division:
Tidewater Community College. Full time. Telework unavailable.

Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.; occasional weekends as required.

Provides a full range of custodial/housekeeping services for college facilities, including but not limited to trash removal, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sweeping, floor stripping and waxing, carpet cleaning, window cleaning, black/white‑board cleaning, and other tasks as assigned. Assists with room set‑up and take‑down, demonstrates good attendance, reports problems to managers, and supports the Custodial Manager in selecting, training, supervising and evaluating other housekeepers.

This is an essential position and may require presence on campus during emergencies or campus closures.

May be required to perform other duties as assigned, and may be required to assist the agency or state government generally in an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Working knowledge of janitorial, custodial, and housekeeping services and sanitizing techniques (floor and carpet care and maintenance).
• Knowledge of custodial operations and industry standards.
• Ability to climb ladders without assistance.
• Ability to lift objects not more than 50 lbs.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience as a shift leader in janitorial, custodial, or housekeeping operations.

• Experience with in a multi‑building housekeeping operation.
• Experience in a college or university environment.

This position has been designated an essential position. Employees may be required to report to work or fulfill responsibilities during campus closures due to weather or other emergencies.
