Facilities Maintenance Technician – VCU Health – 1st Shift
Salary: $22 to $26 per hour. First shift: 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Job SummaryPerform a variety of maintenance duties for facility operations and patient care environments.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot equipment, replace plumbing fixtures, re‑rod drains and pipes, identify and stop leaks, rebuild flush valves.
- Supervise and adjust the building automation system for patient and staff comfort.
- Conduct generator testing and inspections, replace light fixtures and bulbs, replace ceiling tiles, and respond to general building issues.
- Use drawings, wiring diagrams, operations & maintenance manuals for troubleshooting, diagnosing, and making repairs.
- Coordinate specialized work with vendors and contractors.
- Perform preventative maintenance on emergency power system, emergency lighting, ice machines, refrigerators, HVAC equipment, and other building systems as assigned.
- Conduct building and mechanical room inspections per the maintenance program.
- 3–5 years of related experience as a maintenance worker or technician.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow up on maintenance tasks.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Experience with building automation systems.
- Experience with computerized work order systems preferred.
