Position Summary

Assist Floor Technician Supervisor with training associates in floor care duties and perform floor stripping/waxing as requested by the Multi‑Site Manager, Sr. Manager or Director.

Responsibilities

Assist the Floor Technician Supervisor with directing the floor care team, ensuring tasks are completed and quality standards are met. When the supervisor is absent, cover their shift and manage daily tasks.

Assist the Floor Technician Supervisor with training associates in floor care and janitorial skills, proper cleaning techniques and schedules, usage and conservation of supplies, operation of equipment, safety practices, and company rules and regulations.

Drive the company van/truck to transport equipment to off‑site work areas.

Responsible for floor work at Goodwill sites throughout the Richmond area according to schedule established by manager; this includes dust mopping, wet mopping, stripping and waxing, buffing, carpet extraction and other floor care duties as needed.

Monitor the use of supplies and equipment and request additional supplies as needed.

Clean floor equipment after each use and perform routine maintenance as needed; notify supervisor of any equipment needing repair.

May be required to perform the following on an as‑needed basis: dusting, restroom cleaning.

Supervisory Responsibilities

The associate in this position has supervisory responsibility for designated associates in their department.

Education / Experience / Certification

High School Diploma / GED not required.
2 years of experience in a related field required.
Valid state driver’s license, insurance and satisfactory driving record required.
Associates must successfully pass a criminal background check and a sex‑offender check. No computer skills or professional certifications required.

Associates may have access to confidential information (CI) and must be familiar with Goodwill policy 11.01 and follow all related procedures to protect privacy and security of CI.

Physical Demands / Work Environment / Work Conditions

Required to lift up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of up to 25 pounds.
Work in a moderate environment with occasional exposure to extreme conditions (temperature, noise, fumes, dust, etc.).
Must travel throughout the Goodwill service area; may be required to assist with snow removal.
Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as business needs dictate.
