Building and Grounds Superintendent (Trades Technician IV)
- Oversee repairs, renovations, and maintenance; manage workloads and budgets; estimate and procure materials; ensure campus grounds are well‑maintained.
- Handle procurement processes, including bids and contracts, while adhering to labor hour limits and financial constraints.
- Ensure a safe, hazard‑free learning environment by following all safety regulations and standards; coordinate with the Safety Office and implement safety programs and training.
- Manage long‑term contracts by defining project scope, coordinating site visits, and evaluating contractor performance to recommend renewals or cancellations.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan for buildings, equipment, and grounds, including utility distribution and recurring repairs; prepare monthly reports for the Vice President of Finance and Operations.
- Maintain and oversee system operations and related contracts; ensure upkeep of MSD sheet components and update Building & Grounds policies; supervise supply distribution and provide documentation for eVA entry.
- Demonstrated experience in the general maintenance of facilities, equipment, and vehicles, including performing repairs and overseeing renovations.
- Experience in managing long and short‑term contracts.
- Experience maintaining relationships with all contractors and vendors of the college.
- Experience in maintaining the college control systems, including HVAC and energy.
- Experience in developing and maintaining an annual maintenance plan to include buildings, equipment, and grounds.
- Experience ensuring compliance with safety and environmental policies.
- Experience in developing and managing operating and capital budgets.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- OSHA training preferred (as required by VCCS).
- First Aid Certified preferred.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- HVAC certification preferred.
Travel between campus locations as needed.
