Housekeeper

As a housekeeper, you will provide quality customer service by focusing on attention to detail. Your responsibilities include sweeping, scrubbing, mopping, and polishing floors, vacuuming carpets, rugs, and draperies, shampooing carpets, rugs, and upholstery, dusting and polishing furniture and fittings, and cleaning metal fixtures. You will also be responsible for emptying and cleaning trash containers, disposing of trash in a sanitary manner, cleaning wash basins, mirrors, tubs, and glass surfaces, making beds, changing linens, realigning furniture and amenities, responding to guest queries and requests, and addressing housekeeping problems such as spills and broken glasses.

Contributing to team efforts and exhibiting professionalism with customers and fellow associates is essential.

Responsibilities:

• Provide one-on-one attention to detail for quality customer service.
• Sweep, scrub, mop, and polish floors.
• Vacuum carpets, rugs, and draperies.
• Shampoo carpets, rugs, and upholstery.
• Dust and polish furniture and fittings.
• Clean metal fixtures and fittings.
• Empty and clean trash containers.
• Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
• Clean wash basins, mirrors, tubs, and glass surfaces.
• Make up beds and change linens as required.
• Realign furniture and amenities according to prescribed layout.
• Respond to guest queries and requests.
• Address housekeeping issues such as spills and broken glass.
• Contribute to team efforts and maintain professionalism.

Essential

Skills:

• Experience in cleaning, housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial work.
• Around 1 year of cleaning experience preferred.
• Good customer service skills, as interaction with staff and patients is required.

Additional Skills &

Qualifications:

• Ability to communicate with doctors, nurses, hospital staff, and patients or family members.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a room turnaround time of about 45 minutes.
• Open to working in various areas of the hospital and taking directions from leadership.

Work Environment:

The role involves refreshing and cleaning bathrooms, taking out trash on different floors and common areas, and restocking supplies. Shifts available are 1st shift (7am-3:30pm), 1st shift in the OR (7am-3:30pm), 2nd shift (3-11:30pm), and 3rd shift (11pm-7:30am). Candidates must be open to working rotating weekends. The dress code is black pants and a plain black or grey shirt with all-black comfortable shoes.

Scrubs, jeans, or sweatpants are not allowed. Initial training includes one day in the classroom, followed by hands-on experience. Free parking is available in I and O lots.

This is a Contract position based out of Richmond, VA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
