Southland College Prep Charter High School is seeking a compassionate, experienced, and team-oriented School Social Worker to support the social, emotional, and academic development of our high school students. The ideal candidate will have expertise in individual and group counseling, behavioral interventions, and collaborative support within a school setting.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individual and group counseling services to students
- Implement Response to Intervention (RTI) strategies focused on student behavior and social-emotional development
- Deliver crisis intervention and support services as needed
- Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs)
- Participate in special education evaluations and contribute to the development of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, administrators, and families as a key member of the multidisciplinary team
- Support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and supportive school climate
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
- Experience in school-based counseling, behavior intervention, and student support services
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Deep understanding of adolescent development and trauma-informed practices
