Southland College Prep Charter High School is seeking an outstanding, dynamic, innovative, and experienced high school French teacher. Southland Prep is dedicated to educating and inspiring students to reach their highest potential and preparing them for continued academic success and future careers in the 21st-century global economy. Candidates must be articulate, well organized, and knowledgeable in curriculum, instruction, staff development, and evaluation practices.
Experience teaching AP courses is preferred. Applicants should demonstrate high expectations for themselves and their students, as well as enthusiasm, professionalism, and a collaborative approach to teaching and learning. Teachers must meet Illinois State Board of Education requirements, comply with federal ESSA standards, and hold a current Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL).
Qualifications Candidates for this position should possess:
- A successful track record as a high school French teacher
- Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and public relations skills
- Experience with data-driven and standards-based instruction
- Ability to design instruction tailored to individual student needs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- A collaborative approach to working with faculty and staff
- A proven record of student achievement, attendance, and classroom management
- Expertise in assessing and evaluating student performance
- Knowledge of special education compliance requirements
- Strong technology skills; familiarity with the Mac platform preferred
- Experience building positive parent and community partnerships
- Ability to work effectively with staff, parents, board members, and the community
- High moral and ethical standards
- Energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude
- A commitment to academic success for all students
