The Ridgefield Park School District is located in southeastern Bergen County. TITLE:

ANTICIPATED DISTRICT GROUNDSKEEPER /MAINTENANCE

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Black Seal License  (preferred)
• Minimumexperienceasdeterminedbytheboard
• Knowledgeofplantoperationandmaintenance;cleaningmethodsandprocedures;heating and ventilation; proper handling of hazardous materials
• Confirmscompetenceforassignedresponsibilities.
• Confirmsabilitytoliftandcarryitemsanddelivertoschools
• Possessesavalid New Jersey driver 'slicenseandgooddrivingrecord
• Providesmedicalcertificationofgoodhealth
• Abilitytoread,writeandcommunicateeffectively
• RequiredcriminalhistorybackgroundcheckandproofofU.S.citizenshiporlegalresidentalienstatus
• Currentresidencyin New Jersey ,approved residency waiverorcandidateagrees toobtainresidency within one year of employment

Some examples of responsibilities:

• Performs such tasks as whacking weeds, mowing grass, trimming trees and bushes, blowing or raking leaves,andotherlandscapingdutiesasnecessarytomaintaintheschoolgroundsinasafeandattractive condition.
• Maintains/prepares
  
  Veterans
  
  Parkfieldsforfootball,soccer,baseball,andsoftballpractices/games.
• Cleans/sanitizes the
  
  Gil Gibbs Field House .
• Shovelsandplowssnow,sands/saltssidewalksanddriveways,parking areas,steps,andanyother areas as appropriate.
• Maintainsequipmentandreportsneedsforpaintingandminorbuildingand/orequipmentrepairtothe Operations Manager
• Servesonvariouscustodialshiftsatanydistrictlocationasdeterminedbythe Operations Manager
• Keepsthegroundsfreefromrubbishanddebris.
• Shovels,plows,salts,and/orsweepssidewalks,steps,drivewaysandparkingareasasnecessary.
• DisplaystheU.S.flagduringschoolhoursondayswhenschoolisinsession.
• Performs grounds-keepingchoresincludinggrass-cutting,tree-trimming,leafrakingandremovaloflitter, to maintain the grounds in a safe and attractive condition.

SALARY RANGE: $$65,000 -$71,000 annually

JOB GOAL:
To assist with and/or perform district projects and general repairs that help maintain the physical school plants, grounds, and equipment in conditions of excellence so that students are provided with safe, attractive, comfortable, clean and efficient places in which to learn, play, and develop.
