A Brief Overview

The Water Systems Technician is responsible for the operation, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of USP purified water systems, wastewater systems, and related utility equipment across the facility. This role ensures water systems remain in a state of control, supporting manufacturing operations while maintaining compliance with quality, regulatory, and safety requirements. The Water Systems Technician performs preventive and corrective maintenance, conducts system sanitizations, collects samples, supports audits and inspections, and assists in maintaining facility utility systems to ensure reliable and efficient operation.

What

you will do
  • Perform daily monitoring and inspections of USP purified water systems, storage tanks, distribution loops, wastewater systems, and associated equipment.
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot resin bed, reverse osmosis (RO), deionization (DI), UV, filtration, and water distribution systems.
  • Conduct routine sanitization, sterilization, flushing, and cleaning of water system equipment in accordance with approved procedures.
  • Load and maintain water resin beds or other treatment materials as required.
  • Monitor system performance, identify abnormalities, and respond to alarms or operational issues.
  • Support water system startup, shutdown, and recovery activities.
  • Collect water and wastewater samples according to established sampling plans and procedures.
  • Coordinate with Quality and laboratory personnel to ensure timely testing and review of analytical results.
  • Maintain water system logs, sampling records, maintenance documentation, and operational reports.
  • Support investigations, corrective actions, and preventive actions related to water system deviations and excursions.
  • Assist with internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections involving utility and water systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities as defined in maintenance schedules, SOPs, and work orders.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and instrumentation issues associated with water and utility systems.
  • Complete corrective maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime and maintain system reliability.
  • Utilize CMMS systems to document maintenance activities and complete work orders.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance system performance and reliability.
  • Assist with maintenance of facility utility systems including plumbing, compressed air, HVAC, pumps, piping, and related infrastructure.
