Maintenance Technician

Garfield School District Re‑2 is seeking a full‑time, year‑round Maintenance Technician to join Support Services. The role includes maintaining safety, sanitation, and operational readiness of all district facilities. Full medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans are provided.

Support Services consists of Maintenance, Custodial, Grounds, and Facility Use. The district serves communities of Rifle, Silt, and New Castle, covering 913,517 square feet across 231 acres.

The Maintenance Technician performs tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, roofing, snow removal, equipment repair, lock & key service, elevator and scoreboard maintenance, fire‑detector cleaning, inspections, repairs to flooring, asphalt, boilers, concrete, fencing, security camera upkeep, and delivering supplies and food to schools.

Position Summary:

Under basic supervision, performs a variety of maintenance tasks to maintain a high standard of safety and sanitation throughout District facilities, grounds, and buildings. Duties may vary by assignment.
