Job Summary

The Facilities Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Senior Manager. This position is responsible for managing all facility maintenance areas, supervising and developing Maintenance Technicians, providing training, and ensuring safety compliance. Additionally, the supervisor supports annual capital plan development, executes capital projects, and coordinates with outside vendors. The role utilizes CMMS software, works closely with operations staff to balance maintenance and production needs, and drives a proactive maintenance strategy using industry best practices such as TPM and RCM tools.

The incumbent leads and supports the facility maintenance team, assists with process and operations development, and improves overall operational efficiency. This position develops, implements, and analyzes working methodologies to enhance manufacturing efficiency and reliability, increase asset utilization, and reduce costs. The focus is on fostering a culture of loss control, continuous improvement, and change management throughout the facility.

Essential Functions
  • Maintain and continuously improve facility equipment, finished wine supply, and all other support equipment.
  • Supervise and develop Maintenance Technicians and Operators, including effective communication, problem solving, decision making, coaching, and training.
  • Drive a strong safety culture for the maintenance team and the Ripon site, maintaining zero compromise toward safety.
  • Ensure all maintenance tasks, whether performed by outside vendors or internal technicians, comply with company and government safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Set and meet deadlines in an ever‑changing production environment, and be willing to work when needed.
  • Execute an overall site asset maintenance strategy and tactical plans, manage the maintenance budget, and reduce maintenance‑related downtime to improve asset productivity.
  • Measure maintenance planning, scheduling, and tracking efficiency using CMMS.
  • Lead engineering efforts in equipment selection and implementation of capital projects, including start‑ups, and identify and resolve chronic equipment downtime issues.
  • Increase employees' knowledge and skills in root cause problem solving to execute effective repairs that reduce downtime.
  • Manage the facility maintenance team’s work scope, inspection routines, and work order scheduling.
  • Maintain close interaction with Production, Quality, Planning, Engineering, and Finance.
  • Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and targets that support effective maintenance aligned with operations, using KPIs to influence decisions.
  • Accountability metrics include improving overall asset reliability and reducing unscheduled downtime and maintenance costs through technical oversight of the facility.
  • Recognize that job duties may change at any time without notice.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required; BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with industrial electronics/electrical systems, ammonia refrigeration, pneumatics, mechanical systems, hydraulics, building construction, blueprints, processing equipment, boilers, PLCs, and VFDs.
  • Experience managing RMP/PSM projects related to ammonia and SO2.
  • Strong computer skills for CMMS/work order systems and the MS Office suite.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and productivity.
  • Knowledge of OSHA and other federal/state rules and regulations, including environmental regulations.
  • Strong leadership abilities, respect among personnel, preventive and predictive maintenance expertise, cost‑driver awareness, vendor selection, and planning/scheduling skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and awareness of current technological advancements.
  • Reliability, punctuality, teamwork, adherence to safety regulations, and operating procedures.
Physical Demands
  • Perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, standing, primarily in an office and occasionally in a production environment.
  • Work in an environment with exposure to warehouse equipment and associated noise levels.
Compensation
  • Hiring salary range: $78,900 – $118,300.
  • Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, knowledge, education, and other position‑related factors.
