Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship
Dominican University seeks an Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship. This tenure track position is located on-campus in River Forest, IL. The role involves developing curriculum innovation within the entrepreneurship major and minor to support diversity, equity, inclusion, belonging, and sustainability initiatives and experiential learning. The candidate will support entrepreneurship through participation in external events (competitions, conferences) as well as internal events. They will also support the creation of an Entrepreneurship Center and its website that emphasize sustainability and underserved entrepreneurs.
Additionally, they will support the development of strategic partnerships that advance the entrepreneurial mindset. The position requires teaching 21 credit hours within entrepreneurship/management, corresponding to seven courses during an academic year. The candidate will advise undergraduate and transfer students and participate in AACSB Assurance of Learning activities and deliver timely reports to the Dean, Associate Dean, and Department Chair. The position also involves organizing entrepreneurial competitions with departmental colleagues.
Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship/Management or a related field from an AACSB-accredited institution is required. In the alternative, Dominican University will consider applicants who are Ph.D. candidates and have completed all but dissertation (ABD) from an AACSB-accredited institution if the Ph.D. degree is conferred by the time the appointment begins. Prior teaching experience at HSIs or minority serving institutions or demonstrated experience in creating and implementing active or experiential learning opportunities and programs for diverse student populations is preferred.
