Position Title: Assistant Professor of Entrepreneurship
Department: Brennan School of Business
Reports To: Dean of College of Business, Information Studies, and Technology (CBIST)
Job Overview: Tenure‑track position responsible for developing curriculum innovation within the entrepreneurship major and minor to support DEIB/sustainability initiatives and experiential learning. Supports entrepreneurship through participation in external events (competitions, conferences) as well as internal events, the creation of an Entrepreneurship Center and its website, and the development of strategic partnerships that advance the entrepreneurial mindset. Oversees the freshmen Brennan Business Idea Competition (MGMT 197) and sophomore Brennan Business Challenge Competition (ENTR 297) with departmental colleagues, and supports the Entrepreneurs Launch Pad Fund Competition for juniors, seniors, and recent alumni in collaboration with the Department Chair and the Entrepreneurship/Management Executive in Residence.
Requires teaching 21 credit hours within entrepreneurship/management, advising undergraduate and transfer students, and participating in AACSB Assurance of Learning activities with timely reporting to the Dean, Associate Dean, and Department Chair.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement curriculum innovation within the entrepreneurship major and minor.
- Support experiential learning initiatives and sustainability-focused education.
- Coordinate and oversee undergraduate entrepreneurship competitions.
- Engage in external events, competitions, and conferences to promote the department.
- Establish and manage the Entrepreneurship Center website and related outreach.
- Build strategic partnerships to enhance the entrepreneurial mindset.
- Teach 21 credit hours in entrepreneurship/management courses.
- Advise undergraduate and transfer students.
- Participate in AACSB Assurance of Learning activities and report findings.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship/Management or a related field.
- In lieu of a Ph.D., ABD candidates from AACSB accredited institutions will be considered if the degree is conferred before start of appointment.
- Prior teaching experience at historically underrepresented institutions or demonstrated experience in creating and implementing active or experiential learning opportunities for diverse student populations.
- Strong commitment to DEIB principles and sustainability.
