Child And Family Therapist

Individual & Family Connection (IFC) is a counseling practice based in Chicago, IL, dedicated to supporting children, teenagers, and young adults. By employing a variety of therapeutic approaches, IFC empowers clients to navigate life’s difficulties and make positive changes. The practice focuses on identifying the strengths within individuals and utilizing evidence‑based techniques to alleviate symptoms and promote well‑being. IFC works in collaboration with clients to help them uncover the tools they need to overcome challenges and thrive.

This is a full‑time on‑site role for a Child and Family Therapist, located in River Forest, IL. The therapist will provide individual and family therapy, specializing in working with children, teenagers, and young adults. Primary responsibilities include conducting assessments, facilitating play therapy sessions, addressing mental health needs, and collaborating with clients and their families to develop effective treatment plans. Additionally, the therapist will perform case management tasks and maintain accurate and timely documentation.

• Strong foundation in Play Therapy and experience working with children
• Expertise in Social Work and the ability to address a variety of mental health concerns
• Experience with Case Management, including organizing care plans and maintaining records
• Proficiency in building therapeutic relationships with individuals and families
• Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
• Licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Illinois (LCSW, LCPC, LMFT preferred)
• Prior experience in child-focused mental health or family therapy is highly valued
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with clients and team members effectively
