Position SummaryThe Employer Relations Coordinator plays a key role in building and sustaining partnerships between Dominican University and employers to support student career outcomes. This position focuses on employer outreach, relationship management, and coordination of recruiting activities that connect students and alumni with meaningful internships, jobs, and experiential learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain relationships with local, regional, and national employers to expand recruitment opportunities for students and alumni
- Conduct outreach to new employers through calls, emails, events, and networking initiatives
- Coordinate employer engagement activities, including career fairs, on-campus recruiting, employer information sessions, and networking events
- Collaborate with career advisors and academic departments to align employer partnerships with academic programs and student interests
- Manage employer accounts and job postings through the university’s career management platform
- Track and analyze employer engagement metrics and hiring outcomes to inform strategy and reporting
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employers, ensuring a high level of customer service and responsiveness
- Promote employer branding opportunities and develop marketing materials to highlight recruitment initiatives
- Support strategic initiatives to enhance experiential learning opportunities, including internships and project-based collaborations
- Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in higher education, business, or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in employer relations, recruiting, career services, sales, or a related field
- Strong interpersonal and relationship‑building skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Demonstrated organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience with CRM or career management systems (e.g., Handshake, 12
Twenty) preferred - Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision‑making
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion in employer engagement and student access
- Knowledge of current hiring trends and workforce development practices
- Event planning and program coordination experience
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team‑oriented environment
- Proactive, self‑starter mindset with strong problem‑solving skills
This position operates in a professional office setting with occasional evening and weekend hours required to support events.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS- Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

- Salary: $53,000 - $57,000 annually
- FLSA Status:
Exempt, Full‑time (37.5 hours)
