Overview

The Operations Coordinator will serve as a live-in, primary administrator for on-campus residence halls. Reporting to the Director of Residence Life, the Operations Coordinator will provide support, programming, information, advising, and referrals to the Dominican student community. The Operations Coordinator will also be responsible for managing occupancy of the residence halls and maintaining a highly visible presence in the residence halls and across campus.

This role will collaborate with partners across divisional units to identify and remove institutional obstacles to student success and engagement. Promote and develop opportunities for student engagement that are holistic and inclusive; and build a living learning community that supports timely completion, completion with a purpose and skill building.

Responsibilities Housing Operations
  • Facilitate housing assignments and room selection.
  • Manage occupancy and billing such as damage billing from room condition reports, meal plans, resident cancellation, temporary housing.
  • Manage the opening and closing of the residence halls.
  • Manage and oversee summer residential offerings.
  • Manage and maintain the room key disbursement process and room condition reports.
  • Coordinate summer housing placement for university students and outside groups.
Facilities Management
  • Work with the Director of Residence Life to identify areas of facilities that need upgrades.
  • Walk through building(s) on a regular basis for cleanliness and maintenance needs identification.
  • Communicate to residents any facility maintenance issues.
  • Serve as a primary coordinator for the Resident Lobby Desk; supervise student workers who provide coverage for the desk. Provide primary desk coverage as scheduled weekly and back-up coverage when needed.
Administrative Tasks
  • Advise students on matters related to housing and residential life including conflict mediation and referral to appropriate on and off-campus resources. Follow up on residents’ concerns.
  • Advance the University and the Division of Student Success & Engagement’s strategic plan for student success through participation in goal setting, program implementation, committee/task force work, and assessment efforts.
  • Track and assess duty log for trends.
  • Attend meetings on a weekly/biweekly basis including, but not limited to:
    Resident Life staff meetings, professional development sessions, staff meetings, committee meetings, and meetings with students and supervisors.
  • Manage and maintain the housing email and Residence Life webpage.
Emergency and Crisis Response
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call duty rotation. Must be able to arrive to campus within a reasonable period of time (60 minutes) to respond to any emergency.
  • Respond to emergency situations and assist in resolving resident and facilities concerns and needs. This includes evenings, holidays, weekends, summer, and university breaks.
  • Provide appropriate post-crisis referral and follow-up with students and staff as needed.
  • Share responsibility in maintaining health, fire, and safety standards.
Required Qualifications

  • Ability to function in growing environment and work collaboratively.
  • Ability to build working relationships with students, faculty and staff.
  • Proficiency in MS Office programs and student database systems
Education and Experience
  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Conflict Resolution, Education, or other related area preferred.

Physical Demands
  • Ability to spend long durations of the workday sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to regularly walk around the residence halls.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Salary and FLSA Status

Salary: $45,000 - $50,000 per year, plus Room and Board.

FLSA Status:
Exempt 37.5 hours.
