Approximately 10 hours per week
HOURLY RATE: $15.00
* Open to both undergraduate and graduate students
Job Description
The CBIST Communications Assistant supports the communications and community engagement initiatives of the College of Business, Information Studies, and Technology with:
- Social media support on behalf of CBIST and its schools, including the Brennan School of Business, School of Information Studies, and School of Innovation and Technology.
- Creating content (with Director’s input/approval) for FB, Instagram, X, and others
- Monitoring channels and responding where appropriate
- Coordinating with other student workers to present a unified look and voice to social media posts
- Assisting the Director of CBIST Communications in compiling information for newsletters and other external communications.
- Contributing content to the Butler Center’s blog as needed: butlers pantry.org.
- Assisting with marketing and other information sharing of CBIST, SOIS, BSB, and SIT events.
- Participating in event planning and execution, including professional development events and lectures hosted by CBIST schools.
- Current enrollment as an undergraduate or graduate student in Dominican University’s Brennan School of Business, School of Information Studies, or School of Innovation and Technology.
- Mastery of web-based research, social media, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), and one or more digital graphic design platforms.
- Detail-oriented organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lift and move boxes, books, and marketing materials.
- Effective time management skills and a self-motivated work ethic.
- Personable demeanor and the ability to maintain positive working relationships with others.
