OVERVIEW

The Beauty Advisor (BA) is responsible for providing an exceptional experience for all Ulta Beauty guests by engaging each guest to determine their individual needs, conducting cashier tasks, keeping fixtures stocked, maintaining store cleanliness and completing tasks as assigned.

The BA supports the leadership team through performance, guest service, and process adherence and requires a passion for beauty, guest service, and product knowledge.

RESPONSIBILITIES PERFORMANCE
  • Contribute to meeting or exceeding the store’s goals related to retail and service sales, guest loyalty (including credit), omni-channel sales, and retail shrink.
  • Ensure each guest receives exceptional service by greeting, personalizing service, answering questions, informing about promotions, and recommending products.
  • Handle customer service, sales, refunds, exchanges, and online orders courteously.
  • Perform makeup applications, skincare analysis, and product demonstrations to drive sales and enhance guest experience.
  • Book appointments and support execution of services and in-store events to deliver guest experience while meeting sales goals.
  • Stay informed regarding new and existing products and services and be knowledgeable about ingredients and benefits.
  • Maintain punctual and regular attendance.
PEOPLE
  • Contribute to an inclusive environment supporting teammates, peers, and guests.
  • Share benefits of the loyalty program and Ulta Beauty app.
  • Collaborate with managers and associates to grow the business.
  • Regularly participate in training, including brand and category education, to develop professionally and drive sales.
PROCESS
  • Be knowledgeable of and ensure compliance with Ulta Beauty’s policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Adhere to Ulta Beauty’s dress code.
  • Drive sales by keeping assigned work area replenished, signed and faced, and ensuring testers are available.
  • Maintain outstanding store standards and cleanliness across all areas.
  • Participate in merchandise resets, planograms, displays, inventory procedures, and shipment processing using Ulta Beauty’s technology.
  • Protect company assets by following loss prevention best practices.
  • Execute other operational tasks as directed.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma preferred.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience or equivalent education/experience preferred.
  • Passion for guest service and selling.
  • Proficiency with basic technology (POS system, Apple devices).
  • Ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
SPECIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Continuous mobility throughout the store during shift.
  • Frequent standing, bending, pulling, pushing, reaching, twisting during shift.
  • Continuous or frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs during shift.
  • Continuous coordination and manipulation of objects during shift.

Pay range: $16.00 - $24.00 / Hour. Exact pay based on education, qualifications, experience, shift, location, and business needs. Eligible associates may earn overtime as required by law. Full‑time positions eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits. Part‑time positions eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
