Summer Youth Camp Counselor - Instructional Aide

Essential Function:

To support the operation of Triton's Summer Youth Camps by assisting instructors, providing supervision, and guiding students through activities across campus.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

1. Applicant must be 16 or older to apply.

2. Patient and friendly.

3. Dependable and adaptable.

4. Enjoys being around children.

5. Comfortable using Microsoft Word.

6. Prior experience working with children in a classroom, camp, or childcare setting (preferred).

7. Babysitting/Sitting is considered.

8. Familiarity with educational or recreational program facilitation (a plus).

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Escort and transport students to various camps across campus safely and efficiently.

2. Supervise and engage with the students assigned to their camp for the duration of the week.

3. Assist teachers with class activities, ensuring an organized and supportive environment for learning.

4. Monitor student behavior and enforce camp rules to maintain a safe and positive atmosphere.

5. Gather instructional supplies for class and returning them to storage at the end of each class session.

6. Ability to stand, walk, and actively participate in camp activities for extended periods.

7. Able to lift containers with supplies weighing 30 - 40 pounds for short distances and pushing a wheeled cart with equipment.
