The Director – Workforce Empowerment Initiative ( WEI ) provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and external partnership development for the grant. The Director is responsible for full lifecycle grant administration including student recruitment and retention, employer engagement leading to student placement in jobs, budgeting and reporting, meeting performance metrics, and supervision of grant personnel. The Director will also engage in regular collaboration with WEI consortium schools and leadership, community partners, and internal stakeholders.

Qualifications

Education:

Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Communication, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
Experience:

Two to three years of leadership experience with demonstrated progressive responsibility.
Knowledge:
Knowledge of project management practices, operations, procurement, case management and assessment.
Skills:

Demonstrated organizational, planning, team building and leadership skills; ability to prioritize and handle a variety of tasks. Ability to work collaboratively and across disciplines in order to achieve objectives. Excellent communication and presentation skills. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Initiates and manages grant activities and deliverables to ensure outcomes are met.

Engages in ongoing professional development and collaboration with WEI state consortium colleges and leadership, including submitting monthly progress reports, presenting at and attending biannual symposiums, and participating in consortium learning sessions focused on strengthening employment outcomes and student success.

Cultivates and leads partnerships with regional employers to secure job placements for students.

Manages the recruitment and retention of WEI students.

Leads planning, budgeting, reporting, and delivery of services, coordinating with non-grant college staff and faculty.

Prepares and submits timely and accurate reports.

Facilitates communications and work with all stakeholders as necessary to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Participates in evening and weekend special events as necessary.

Other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
