Construction Project Management Intern
Taza Construction LLC is seeking a Construction Project Management Intern to assist in managing construction projects from pre-construction to completion. This role involves working closely with the Head of the Department, conducting site visits, and utilizing Procore to oversee project documentation, scheduling, and progress tracking. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of cost estimation, project scheduling, and workflow coordination within the construction industry.
This internship is a great opportunity for individuals who want hands-on experience managing real-world construction projects while gaining insight into project budgeting, scheduling, and quality control.
Role Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing the full project cycle from planning, execution, and completion.
- Use Procore to track project progress, update documentation, and manage workflows.
- Conduct site visits to monitor project development and report progress.
- Work closely with the Head of the Department to manage project schedules, budgets, and timelines.
- Ability to handle multiple site visits and projects.
- Assist in cost estimation, bidding processes, and procurement to ensure cost-effective execution.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and safety regulations.
- Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications for accuracy and adherence to industry standards.
- Communicate with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to coordinate materials and deliveries.
- Support the project team with risk assessment, quality control, and troubleshooting during project execution.
- Attend and contribute to weekly project meetings and reporting sessions.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in Procore - must be able to manage the entire full project cycle using Procore.
- Strong understanding of cost estimation, budgeting, and bid preparation.
- Ability to conduct site visits and work directly with project managers.
- Knowledge of construction scheduling, risk assessment, and quality control.
- Proficiency needed in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, MS Project), Bluebeam, and AutoCAD.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with multiple teams.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits.
- Strong leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with leading construction cost estimation software (e.g., Plan Swift, RSMeans, Sage Estimating, Pro Est)
- OSHA 30 Certification is a plus.
