The City of Riverdale is seeking a skilled and motivated Class II Water Plant Operator — or an individual with equivalent water treatment experience—to join our team supporting safe, reliable drinking water for our community. • Operate, monitor, and maintain a Class II water treatment facility in compliance with state and federal regulations
• Perform routine and advanced water quality testing, sampling, and documentation
• Adjust chemical feed systems and treatment processes to ensure optimal water quality
• Conduct preventative maintenance and minor repairs on pumps, motors, valves, and related equipment
• Maintain accurate operational logs, reports, and regulatory documentation
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and after‑hours callouts as needed
• Collaborate with city staff, contractors, and regulatory agencies
• Support distribution system tasks as assigned (hydrant flushing, valve exercising, etc.)

• North Dakota Class II Water Treatment Operator Certification
  , or the ability to obtain certification within one year
• Equivalent experience in water treatment operations will be considered
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50 lbs, work in varying weather conditions, and perform physical tasks
• Basic mechanical, electrical, or instrumentation aptitude
• Strong communication and record‑keeping skills

• Experience with SCADA systems
• Knowledge of surface water treatment processes
• Class I or II Water Distribution Certification
• Experience in water utilities or municipal public works
