UC Riverside's Dining Services is recruiting for a Senior Custodian. The full salary range for the Senior Custodian is $25.00 - $28.89 per hour. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs. The realized minimum pay for this position will be $25 an hour.
Work in all phases of routine and emergency cleaning and general maintenance of all UCR Dining and Hospitality Services, including Dining and Child Development facilities. The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
- Cleaning windows, mirrors, floors, walls, ceilings, furniture, carpets, appliances, drinking fountains and related fixtures
- Cleaning areas such as kitchens, dining rooms, offices, resident rooms, classrooms, bathrooms and showers
- Cleaning lounges and apartments including stoves, ovens and refrigerators
- Cleaning and sanitizing food production areas, kitchen equipment, counters, exhaust filters and hoods
- Preparing rooms for summer conference groups and special events; cleaning rooms, making beds with linens and towel exchanges
- Performing setup duties and restoring areas per contracts for catered and conference events
- Cleaning and sanitizing the Child Development Center to state mandated standards
- Cleaning using sweeping, dusting, mopping, vacuuming, buffing; stripping, waxing, polishing and graffiti removal to maintain appearance/cleanliness
- Moving furniture, fixtures and equipment for cleaning; cleaning and sanitizing biohazards as required
- Cleaning up construction debris from new construction and major refurbishments/remodeling
- Maintaining exteriors by sweeping or blowing down sidewalks, stairs, and using high-pressure washers/ride-on sidewalk scrubbers
- Assisting with pool maintenance, cleaning and adding water/chemicals as needed
Other duties include: operating within a clean and safe environment, transporting items as needed, and adhering to University policies and applicable procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; demonstrated experience in custodial work may be considered in lieu of formal education
- Ability to perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintenance (standing, bending, lifting, etc.)
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and proper handling procedures
- Must have or obtain and maintain a valid driver’s license; driving record in accordance with local policies/procedures; may enroll in the California Employer Pull Notice Program
- Current work authorization to accept a UCR staff position; we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff
- Compliance with University policies and applicable bargaining agreements; ability to comply with federal, state, or local directives as required
