The janitor will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness, orderliness, and safety in our shop environment. This role is essential in supporting our daily operations and requires attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors, especially in high-traffic areas.
- Empty and dispose of waste in designated receptacles; manage recycling bins and hazardous waste according to company policies.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms, break rooms, and common areas; restock supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper as needed.
- Clean and maintain equipment and tools in designated areas.
- Wash windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces within the facility.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks to identify potential issues (e.g., leaking pipes, faulty lighting) and report them to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain the exterior of the shop, including sweeping entrances, picking up debris, and clearing pathways.
- Assist with minor repairs as needed (e.g., changing light bulbs, tightening screws).
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers and vacuums.
- Follow safety protocols when handling cleaning supplies, ensuring compliance with company health and safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to support a safe and organized workspace.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous experience as a janitor or in a similar cleaning role, especially in an industrial or shop environment.
- Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Understanding of safety protocols when handling cleaning supplies and working in a shop environment.
- Physically capable of standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Willingness to work flexible hours if needed.
$18-$20
