Position Summary

DecisionPoint Technologies is seeking a Field Service Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair printing hardware supporting healthcare facilities throughout an assigned territory.

In this role, you'll be the primary technical resource for hospitals, clinics, and medical offices, ensuring that mission-critical printers used for patient wristbands, specimen labels, prescriptions, and medical records remain fully operational. Your work helps healthcare professionals deliver exceptional patient care by minimizing downtime and keeping essential systems running.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, solving technical problems on-site, and providing outstanding customer service.

What You'll Do
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain laser, thermal, Zebra, and multifunction printers at healthcare facilities.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to maximize equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Install standalone and network-connected printing devices.
  • Respond to break/fix service calls from customers and vendors.
  • Manage a daily schedule of service calls throughout your assigned territory.
  • Complete detailed service reports documenting repairs, labor, and parts used.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records for service parts and equipment.
  • Manage Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) from initiation through completion.
  • Utilize service manuals, schematics, and technical documentation to perform repairs.
  • Consult with fellow technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical issues.
  • Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Recommend process improvements based on product performance and customer feedback.
  • Follow company procedures for equipment transfers, inventory management, and documentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 2-3 years of field service experience repairing mechanical and electronic hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
  • Experience managing multiple service calls while maintaining organized tools and inventory.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Comfortable climbing ladders, navigating healthcare environments, and traveling throughout the assigned territory.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience servicing Zebra thermal printers, barcode printers, or healthcare printing solutions.
  • Previous experience working in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, or other healthcare environments.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA requirements and working in patient-care environments.
  • Certifications related to printer repair, networking, or field service are a plus.
