Position: SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32) Jobs

Duties

As a SURFACE MAINTENANCE MECHANIC SUPERVISOR (TITLE 32), WS-5801-10, you will supervise workers directly or through subordinate leaders and/or supervisors in accomplishing work of the function.

Major Duties - This is NOT an all-inclusive list:

• Plan use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis.
• Establish deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plan work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor.
• Determine the number and types of workers needed to accomplish specific projects.
• Provide management with workload data, estimates, and recommendations to facilitate more effective management decisions for staffing and funding requirements to support customer units.
• Ensure work in progress and completed work meets established standards by implementation of a Quality Control and Assurance program within the organization.
• Ensure equipment repairs do not exceed maintenance expenditure limits in accordance as established by regulation and or policies.
• Effectively, efficiently, and economically make adjustments as necessary to maximize production, accomplish specified tasks, and manage resources.
• Note work related problems and independently implement corrective actions, which can be taken without affecting work operations controlled by other supervisors.
• Prepare for and participate in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilization and command support exercises.
• Determine training needs of subordinates and arrange for accomplishment.

• Irregular and/or overtime (compensatory) hours may be required to support operational requirements or contingencies or may be required to work hours outside of the normal duty day.
• May be required to successfully complete a supervisor probationary period.
• Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.

Qualifications

AREA OF CONSIDERATION :
The area of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), the only area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.

Military Grades :
Warrant Officer - WO1 - CW3 (Warrant Officer Candidates may apply)

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : WS-10 Level MUST possess specialized experience which includes, In addition to the journeyman level knowledge, experience which demonstrates the ability to plan, direct, and organize work assignments for lower grade personnel. Experience which required the review of work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines. Experience that provided knowledge of various lines of work performed by this function.
