Retail Assistant Store Manager-North Riverside PARK MALL

About the Position

As an Assistant Store Manager at Bath & Body Works, you will partner with the Store Manager to develop associates, deliver customer experiences, and drive business growth.

• Attract, hire, develop, inspire, and retain top talent.
• Set and reinforce clear performance expectations, results goals, and accountability.
• Act as manager on duty as delegated, addressing customer experience, vendor relationships, or maintenance issues.
• Partner with the sales leadership team to execute action plans that improve results.
• Implement floorset direction to optimize the business and bring the product story to life.
• Perform opening and closing routines, including bank deposits, receipt of shipment, and interpretation of company directives.
• Set the direction and goals for the day/shift when associates arrive for work.
• Provide individual and team performance feedback and recommendations.
• Meet payroll targets by ensuring appropriate sales floor coverage.
• Lead exceptional in‑store customer experiences through selling behaviors rooted in Our Values and product knowledge.
• Create genuine connections with customers through uncovering needs, sharing product information, demoing products, and making personalized recommendations.
• Train, coach, reward, and motivate associates to improve selling and the customer experience.
• Reinforce selling expectations, performance, results, and accountability with all associates.
• Maintain physical activity requirements, including climbing ladders, lifting, reaching, bending, and kneeling; able to lift 10 lb consistently and up to 50 lb.
• Consistently provide a safe, clean, and engaging experience by adhering to all safety standards and expectations.
• Maintain our values, policies, and procedures.

• Proven experience delivering sales, customer experience, and operational results in a fast‑paced environment.
• Prior manager role, preferably in retail.
• Thrives in a customer‑first retail environment.
• Ability to foster a customer‑focused selling culture.
• Effective communication skills and openness to feedback.
• Ability to provide in‑the‑moment coaching to associates.
• Ability to de‑escalate store and customer situations effectively.
• Must be available for peak days and times, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

High school diploma, GED certificate, or relevant work experience.
