Responsibilities- Greet and assist customers promptly:
Approach and acknowledge customers, provide assistance, and handle multiple customers efficiently. - Understand and meet customer needs:
Assess needs by sharing product knowledge, answering questions, directing to merchandise, and offering recommendations; engage in suggestive selling while staying informed on product availability. - Promote store events and promotions:
Inform customers about current events, promotions, and activities to enhance their shopping experience and drive sales. - Resolve customer concerns:
Address issues and use product knowledge to offer solutions; aim to turn returns into exchanges when possible. - Communicate needs to management:
Regularly inform management about restocking, service requirements, and customer feedback in a timely manner. - Support team and company goals:
Collaborate with the team to achieve store and company objectives and maintain a positive work environment.
- At least 16 years old
- Available to work a flexible schedule
- Comfortable with or willing to learn technology (cash registers, handheld and mobile devices)
- Good communicator with the ability to engage with customers
- Able to handle customer interactions courteously and professionally
- Use basic information-gathering skills to solve problems
- Able to learn procedural knowledge through on-the-job training
- Frequently operate cash register
- Frequently move merchandise weighing up to 25 lbs and place/remove merchandise up to 5-10 feet high
- Frequently ascend/descend ladders to retrieve and stock merchandise
- Frequently kneel, bend, twist, and stoop in stock and sales areas
- Frequently communicate with customers, managers, and coworkers in store and via telephone
- Move across the sales floor to assist customers and manage stockroom movements
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including day, evening, weekends, and possible overnight shifts
- Identify and follow email and print instructions regarding merchandise layouts, associate schedules, and SOPs
- Remain in a stationary, upright position for extended periods
