Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for basic maintenance and facility upkeep. Responsibilities include general maintenance, preventative maintenance, ground keeping, and painting. The duties may vary by campus location, business needs, or seasonality of tasks performed.
Responsibilities and Duties- Perform basic general maintenance: plumbing (unclog drains), HVAC (replace AHU filters, clean coils), carpentry (install pictures, boards, ceiling tiles).
- Perform basic preventive maintenance: plumbing drain maintenance, HVAC equipment cleaning/servicing, carpentry on doors, walls, ceilings for life safety compliance.
- Maintain facility grounds: mulching, pruning, mowing, trimming, seeding, irrigation of plants, trees, lawns; snow and ice removal.
- Clean and remove trash from entrances and grounds; clear storm drains, parking lots, and lawn of debris.
- Painting responsibilities: material estimation, area preparation, application, and clean‑up.
- Equipment and facility inspection: coordinate and inspect projects, physical structures, and equipment to ensure quality standards, compliance with city/state codes and JCAHO, and approved time frames.
As a high reliability organization (HRO), responsibilities require focus on safety, quality, and efficiency.
Minimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or GED (required). Driver’s License from the Department of Motor Vehicles.
AdditionalJob Description / Specialized Knowledge
Valid State Driver’s License required. Basic knowledge of landscaping, painting, and general maintenance. Ability to operate light equipment, trucks, tractors, mowers, etc. Knowledge and use of power tools and other equipment such as paints, chemicals, and adhesives. Ability to work in a team-oriented environment. 0-2 years of experience in landscape maintenance, paint, vinyl, tile applications, etc., preferably in a commercial setting.
