Job Description

The Floor Care Technician performs floor care tasks according to detailed instruction and maintains the facility in a sanitary, safe, clean, and attractive environment to meet hospital and Joint Commission standards. This position also performs general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Position Details

Full Time – 40 hours per week.
Pay Rate: $18.22 – $23.68 per hour based on experience.
Availability:
Monday‑Friday, 3pm – 11:30pm.

Essential Functions
  • Provide maintenance to hard surface floors by stripping, buffing, burnishing, scrubbing, and re‑finishing according to procedure.
  • Provide maintenance to carpeted floors by vacuuming, extracting, and performing spot removal.
  • Use cleaning and floor chemicals properly according to Joint Commission and OSHA standards.
  • Operate and maintain assigned equipment according to established procedures.
  • Handle equipment maintenance needs, including reporting problems and ensuring facility readiness.
  • Perform general housekeeping duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • One or more year of experience supporting Floor Care duties (preferred).
  • Demonstrated communication skills, including recognizing color‑coded labels and following written or verbal directions.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet departmental needs.
  • Demonstrated professional floor care experience (preferred).
Physical Requirements

Ongoing need to see and read information, labels, and monitors; assess customer needs. Frequent customer interactions requiring clear communication. Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment. Ability to lift, transport, pull, and push equipment, including heavy items. Work on hands, knees, bending, and setting up equipment. Use of computer, phone, and cable setup.
