The City of Roanoke is seeking a Seasonal Maintenance Worker to perform routine maintenance tasks within Roanoke's Parks Division.
- Park & Facility Maintenance:Clean and maintain park grounds, shelters, restrooms, and other amenities. Tasks include picking up trash, removing debris, repairing benches and tables, and performing light carpentry and concrete repair.
- Landscape Work:Assist with general landscape maintenance, including cleaning courts, mowing, and handling materials like soil, mulch, and gravel.
- Event Support:Help set up and break down for special events, ensuring the smooth operation of community activities.
- Operate Tools & Equipment:Use power tools such as blowers, weed eaters, pressure washers, and painting equipment to maintain park spaces.
- Assist with Loading & Unloading:Help with moving materials for various projects and repairs.
Work is accomplished under the direction of Maintenance Technician III and/or IV.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); one to three months related experience and/or training in performance of heavy manual work is desirable; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Work 40 hours per week from April - January.
