As an Auto Repair Specialist I, you will perform essential diagnostic, mechanical, and cosmetic repairs on customer and internal Car Max vehicles, ensuring every car meets our high standards of safety and quality. Role Responsibilities

* Perform accurate diagnostics and complete mechanical and cosmetic repairs on all vehicle systems

* Inspect vehicles to meet Car Max Quality Standards and complete state inspections when required

* Manage repair orders, ensuring accuracy in labor, parts, and billing documentation

* Utilize proprietary and universal software systems

* Maintain a clean, organized workspace following Car Max 5S standards and safety protocols

* Provide leadership and functional expertise to support associates and managers across the store

* Follow Car Max Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S) requirements and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Required Qualifications

* Completion of Car Max New Associate Orientation and Kronos Training for Hourly Associates

* Ability to read, interpret, and transcribe data accurately for record-keeping

* Strong multitasking skills to perform duties in a high-energy, fast-paced environment

* Physical capability to perform work, including lifting up to 50 lbs and standing or walking for extended periods, in a role that blends office and outdoor environments with potential exposure to noise and inclement weather; requires flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, and adherence to Car Max uniform standards.

* Excellent communication and customer service skills, including active listening and telephone etiquette

* Where required by State/Local law, maintain ASE Certifications in Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating Air Conditioning (A7), Electrical (A6), Engine Repair (A1), Manual Drive Train and Axles (A3), Engine Performance (A8), and Automatic Transmission/Transaxle (A2)
