Position Overview

Performs routine and preventative custodial work of campus facility and equipment; assists with security coverage; cleans and maintains campus grounds including but not limited to all common spaces, classrooms, learning labs, study space, bathrooms, storage areas, faculty and staff areas, break rooms, testing areas, Galen shop, outdoor patios, parking lots and walkways; removes all trash daily, maintains, cleans and sanitizes surfaces, replenishes all sanitary products, including but not limited to paper towels, toilet paper, hand soap, hand sanitizer;

properly maintains and cleans all floors, windows and walls; properly replaces light bulbs and supplies; paint and repair walls, door frames; performs ancillary maintenance duties; follows daily, weekly, and quarterly cleaning and maintenance schedule; and maintains a secure and clean campus climate for students, faculty and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Performs all cleaning for interior and exterior of campus
  • Maintain proper inventory of all custodial supplies, notifies supervisor for weekly orders
  • Responds to emergency cleaning requests, as required.
  • Assemble and/or repair items, as needed.
  • Use tools ranging from common hand tools, and cleaning tools
  • Replace light bulbs and supplies, as needed.
  • Paint and repair walls, doors, frames, etc.
  • Perform additional custodial duties as directed.
  • Perform minor security details
  • Additional duties as assigned
Position Requirements
  • Special

    Qualifications:

    Communicate orally with co-workers, customers, clients, or the public in a face-to-face, one-to-one setting or using a telephone. Work cooperatively with other contractors, employees, various levels of management, and students.
  • Physical/Mental Demands & Work Environment: Must be able to stand for long periods of time. Lift 25-50 pounds.
  • Degree of Supervision: Minimal.
