Wage Housekeeping Assistant

Job Duties

• Part‑time AM shift up to 29 hours per week with alternating weekends.
• Apply appropriate cleaning techniques, procedures, and products/equipment to a broad range of surfaces, including sweeping, dust mopping, damp/wet mopping, dusting, polishing, scrubbing, vacuuming, and waste/trash removal.
• Replenish supplies routinely such as paper towels, toilet paper, hand soaps, deodorants, and clean body fluids and waste.
• Keep housekeeping storage and cart clean and organized; clean equipment after each use and report any malfunctions or repair needs to supervisors.
• Perform all functions by adhering to department and facility policies and procedures.
• Maintain records, reports, and data associated with detail cleaning, discharge/terminal cleaning, and periodic cleaning requirements.
• Perform additional duties as assigned or required within Environmental Services’ mission or in emergencies.
• Assist the agency or state government in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

• Knowledge of supplies and equipment used in routine cleaning of offices, resident rooms, public spaces, and utility areas.
• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

The Commonwealth does not provide sponsorship; therefore, applicants must be a citizen or national of the U.S., a Lawful Permanent Resident, or an alien authorized to work. Excluding current DVS employees, the selected candidate must pass a criminal background check, pre‑employment drug screening, and two TB skin tests.
