Maintenance Technician III

The City of Roanoke is seeking a Maintenance Technician III to join our Parks and Recreation Mowing Team. In this role, you'll supervise and work alongside a crew of highly skilled Maintenance Technicians, taking part in a variety of landscape maintenance activities across the city.

You'll help manage and train team members as assigned, bringing hands-on skill to the operation of several types of motorized equipment, including the Ground master 580D, Ventrac, zero-turn mowers, and walk-behind mowers. During winter months, you'll also operate both heavy and light equipment to support snow removal efforts.

To be considered for this role, one will need a high school diploma or GED, along with 3 to 5 years of experience and/or training in the assigned area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. You will also need to hold a Virginia Class B commercial driver's license with air brake and tanker endorsements, along with a Registered Technician spraying license.
