Mine Maintenance Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mine Maintenance Supervisor to lead their maintenance team at their operations near East London . This role is critical for ensuring the reliability and optimal performance of all mining equipment, from heavy mobile machinery to processing plant components. You will be responsible for supervising maintenance personnel, managing work schedules, overseeing preventative and corrective maintenance activities, and ensuring adherence to safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and proven leadership skills within a mining or heavy industrial environment.

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of a team of maintenance technicians and artisans.
• Develop, implement, and manage preventative maintenance schedules to maximize equipment uptime and minimize breakdowns.
• Oversee corrective maintenance activities, ensuring timely and effective repairs.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, including parts usage and labor hours.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations pertaining to maintenance activities.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of maintenance strategies and workshop efficiency.

• Trade Qualification (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrician) or a relevant technical diploma.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role within maintenance, preferably in the mining industry or heavy equipment repair.
• Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems common in mining equipment.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a maintenance team.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and best practices in a workshop and field environment.
• Good organizational and problem-solving skills for managing maintenance operations in East London .
