This position is an Oakland University Campus Maintenance and Trades – MEA / NEA position. The incumbent will be represented by the MEA / NEA.

• High school graduation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• The ability to read the directions for the use and/or mixing of various cleaning chemicals and compounds and written instructions.
• Performs physically active work requiring frequent standing, reaching, walking, bending, shoveling, pulling, pushing, climbing on a ladder and lifting in order to perform various cleaning and set-up tasks.
• Frequent lifting requiring the execution of up to sixty pounds of force to move and use supplies, use cleaning aids and equipment.
• Works with cleaning chemicals and compounds and polishing materials that may produce strong and/or offensive odors.
• May work in various weather conditions with extremes in heat and cold.
• Completion of a physical to verify the applicant's ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Work sample to demonstrate the applicant's ability to perform the duties of the position.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and driving record acceptable to the University by the University’s insurance carrier.

• Previous custodial/janitorial experience is desirable.

Full‑time position working Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM. Must be available for overtime as needed including early mornings, nights and/or weekends.

Hourly.

Number of Hours per Week: 40+ Hours a Week.

To perform cleaning activities and maintain assigned areas in various campus classroom and office buildings and on an emergency basis, perform grounds related tasks.
