Custodial and Light Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

This position ensures the cleanliness, safety, and basic maintenance of our facilities. The Custodial and Light Maintenance Technician plays a key role in creating a welcoming and well‑maintained environment for staff, clients, and visitors by performing routine cleaning tasks and light maintenance duties.

Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning of classrooms, commercial kitchen, restrooms, offices, common areas, and other facility spaces. This includes mopping and vacuuming.

Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Empty trash and recycling bins and ensure proper disposal.

Conduct light maintenance tasks including minor repairs, painting, and furniture assembly.

Monitor the building for cleanliness and safety issues and report concerns.

Assist with room setups for meetings and events.

Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies inventory.

Respond to maintenance requests as necessary in a timely manner.

Support seasonal tasks such as snow removal or landscaping assistance.

Follow OSHA and safety guidelines in all tasks.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Must be dependable, detail‑oriented, and able to work independently.

Licenses / Certifications

Valid driver’s license preferred. Basic maintenance certifications a plus.

Benefits

This is a full‑time position, Monday‑Friday between the hours of 4 pm‑12 am or 5 pm‑1 am. Hours can be flexible. Compensation is based upon education level, starting at $21 per hour.
