Beet Receiving Repair Person

• Operate a welder and cutting torch, welding flat, cylindrical, or irregular parts, and pass a bend test prior to job placement.
• Repair equipment by replacing or adjusting sprockets, bearings, chains, shafts, motors, and gearboxes.
• Perform basic electrical tasks.
• Provide own basic tools.
• Read blueprints, manuals, drawings, rough sketches, and follow verbal instructions to determine layout and sequence of operations.
• Apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machine procedures.
• Maintain a professional attitude and composure with piler crews, shareholders, and other employees.
• Perform housekeeping duties: cleaning shop area and keeping tools and shop equipment clean and in good repair.
• Assist with Ag mechanics duties such as disassemble, relocate, and reassemble receiving equipment; splice belting; replace motors, gears, and bearings; and perform various shop duties as required.
• Work on other Ag Department equipment or projects as assigned by supervisors, including grounds upkeep/maintenance and environmental projects such as tile intake monitoring and beet disposal operations.
• Pass a 6G weld test.
• Operate company vehicles, including a boom truck and trailer, after obtaining a Class A CDL Driver License.
• Obtain NCCCO mobile crane certification.
• Work 12‑hour shifts during the harvest season or as required.
• Lift, push, pull, or carry objects up to 100 lb and use physical ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach, including climbing ladders and stairways.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Must pass a bend test and a 6G weld test.
• Must possess a Class A CDL Driver License.
• Must be able to obtain NCCCO mobile crane certification.
