6am-2pm M-F

Compensation
  • All in hourly compensation: $24.54 to $25.18/hr
    • Base Pay: $23.32 to $23.96/hr
    • Sign on Bonus: $1.22/hr worked

The Opportunity

We are seeking a qualified candidate to fill the Day Shift, Mechanic Specialist position. The job objective is to keep the forklift fleet in peak running condition, with minimal disruption to operators, using approved repair methods in a safe and timely manner. Assist with all lifts throughout the facility as needed, advise on capital planning for lift purchases, trades, and other rolling stock acquisitions.

Responsibilities
  • Perform work with OSHA requirements in mind.
  • Proper use of hand tools.
  • Operate power tools – grinders, welders, drills, saws, etc.
  • Work with alignment equipment – dial indicators.
  • Work with peer, supervisory, and subordinate groups.
  • Lubricate and adjust equipment as required by manufacture.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment as needed.
  • Perform safety checks on forklifts and associated equipment (brakes, horn lights, backup alarm, CO2 testing, fuel tank restraints, safety valves, pin alignment).
  • Diagnose problems and work with manufacturer reps to resolve issues.
  • Work with vendors on updates for equipment.
  • Make recommendations for equipment improvements and cost containment.
  • Be able to work in other areas of the facility as needed.
  • Ensure all lifts are maintained to OSHA and DOT standards.
  • Work shifts as required and take call-ins as needed.
Qualifications
  • Good mechanical knowledge.
  • Good maintenance skills.
  • General mathematical skills.
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines.
  • Experience in metal fabrication/welding – TIG, wirefeed, stick, mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, silver soldering, brazing.
  • Experience in power transmission equipment – bearings, seals, belts, gearboxes; alignment of said equipment.
  • Self-motivation.
  • Use of specialized equipment – dial indicators, infrared temperature indicator, vibration analysis equipment, airflow monitor, RPM/FPM indicator, carbon monoxide, and air quality monitors.
